Perishables have to be transported in the right (temperature-controlled) conditions. Speed is crucial; flowers, fruit & vegetables, meat, fish and pharmaceutical products cannot be left waiting for processing for a day, for instance. Due to the fact that we have our own 1st-line cargo warehouse, Van de Put has your shipment up to 4 hours sooner (following the aircraft landing) than other forwarders. In addition, we use rollerbed conveyors and bulk-breaking lifts in our warehouses, accelerating the bulk-breaking process. Container-shipments are picked up at the time of arrival into the port in order to process them for their onward journey. We also have a tailor-made Warehouse Management System (WMS), which sees to it that your shipment follows an optimum route through our warehouses.
As we have our own fleet of trucks and drivers, we can deliver your shipment to you in a speedy manner. We even arrange for pick-up transport from airports and ports outside of the Netherlands ourselves. So if your shipment will be arriving at a foreign airport or port, it will be transported to Amsterdam as soon as possible.
We are streets ahead when it comes to communication with Customs. Even before your shipment comes in, we will already have prepared the declaration to be sent to Customs. A click on the mouse and your shipment is declared. In addition to this, we are a participant in the Customs-free zone at Schiphol, so transport flows between the various parties at the airport run a fair bit more smoothly.
