New to transit - now what?

You are planning to start with transit. 4 easy steps will ensure that everything will go smoothly, from your first import shipment onwards!

1. Make agreements with the supplier of your product

You have found a supplier you would like to buy your product from. You make agreements on the price of the product and on delivery terms. It is useful to look in detail at standardized delivery terms in terms of transport, so-called Incoterms. In this way you will prevent surprises with regard to who is paying for what in the logistics chain, and where risks are being transferred.

2. Become one of J. van de Put's customers

You will have to be a customer of J. van de Put even before you have your first shipment arrives. This way we will be familiar with all your details, enabling us to process the goods, have them cleared and deliver them to you. To become one of our customers you will need to provide the following details:

  • Company details (company name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail)
  • Currency in which you wish to be invoiced (EUR €/ USD $)

We strongly recommend becoming a customer of J. van de Put at least 3 days prior to your first shipment being delivered in Europe.

3. Arrange transport from Schiphol (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)

You need to arrange connecting transport from Schiphol. We cannot provide truck transport for you, but we can put you in touch with haulage firms that drive to Eastern Europe and Russia.

You can also choose to have your shipment sent on by air transport. J. van de Put can take care of this for you; to this end, please get in touch with our staff.

4. Operational matters

Now, everything is ready for processing of your shipments. If you have any operational queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
